Was discussing the next generation in our family with my mom and concluded that neither I nor any of my cousins can speak Cantonese fluently, which is sad. My mom has planned to fix this by forcing my future kids to only speak Cantonese with her so that they can later talk about me behind my back. I know she's spiteful because I don't get her jokes.

I am not being spiteful, if one generation skips the mother tongue, which i feel was my lack of teaching it to you, so i intend to make it up by teaching it to my grands, providing i am still alive and kicking..young people these days are sooo slow at reproducing (if they actually get round to doing it, and not wait till my one foot is in the grave,or when I am dragging a breathing tank around with me ,i might still have the energy to teach them)so there. My grandchild and I will sit there and whisper into each other's ears , look at you and laugh...LOL
